  Brian Contos , Chief Security Officer, Arcsight
Mr. Contos has over a decade of real-world security engineering and management expertise developed in some of the most sensitive and mission-critical environments in the world. As ArcSight's CSO he advises government organizations and Global 1,000s on security strategy related to Enterprise Security Management (ESM) solutions, while being an evangelist for the ESM space.

He has delivered speeches, white papers, webcasts, podcasts and most recently an upcoming book on security titled ? Enemy at the Water Cooler: True Stories of Insider Threats and Countermeasures. He has also written countless articles for industry publications.

Mr. Contos has held management and engineering positions at Riptech, Lucent Bell Labs, Compaq Computers and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). He has worked throughout North America, South America, Western Europe, and Asia and holds a B.S. from the University of Arizona in addition to a number of industry and vendor certifications.



  Carole Theriault, Senior Security Consultant, Sophos
Carole Theriault is responsible for public relations in the UK, as well as coordinating Sophos's global media relations. As a company spokesperson, she is regularly quoted by Reuters, PA and the BBC on the latest computer security threats.

In her role as a security consultant, Carole has presented at industry conferences such as Virus Bulletin, and written a number of white papers and articles for online and print magazines around the world.

Carole joined Sophos in 1998, working as a technical author and then team leader for documentation and translation department. During her time at Sophos, she has been involved in several areas of the company, including project management and software CD production.

Carole graduated from the University of Waterloo, Canada, with a degree in Rhetoric and Professional Writing.


  Graeme Pinkney, Manager of Threat Intelligence and Analysis EMEA, Symantec
Graeme Pinkney joined Symantec in February 2002 to design and build the EMEA based Security Operations Center, this lead to Graeme successfully managing analysis and threat response from the Center until early 2005 where he has now taken on a new role within Symantec.

Graeme brings with him over 15 years of experience in IT delivery and security/Intelligence, including an intelligence gathering background and is now "Manager of threat and vulnerability analysis" for Symantec's enterprise Business working within the Innovation group based in Green Park Reading.


  Martin Ingram, Vice President of Product Management, AppSense
Martin Ingram, is responsible for the strategic direction of the company?s products, ensuring that they meet customer needs now and in the future.

Martin?s security career started developing Government Command and Control systems. With the emergence of widespread commercial use of the Internet he focused on security in commercial networked environments and has since worked in the following areas of security: Malware prevention, Content security, Identity and Access management and Compliance.

Additionally, he has a broad interest in the whole field of information security. Martin has 15 years industry experience and has held senior strategic product management and engineering positions at leading technology companies in the UK and US, and has developed an in-depth understanding of the position technology takes in meeting the business objectives of large corporations ranging from Business Process Automation (BPM), and Enterprise Java development using SOA, to now focusing on endpoint security management.


  David Emm, Senior Technology Consultant, Kaspersky Lab
David Emm is Senior Technology Consultant at Kaspersky Lab. David?s wide experience in the anti-virus industry has provided him with in-depth knowledge of the business and technical issues facing enterprises during successive generations of viruses, worms and other malicious code threats. He regularly writes articles and white papers for publication whilst also being available for providing comment to the press on the latest malware issues.

David joined Dr Solomon's Software in 1990, playing various roles in the years that followed, including Technical Support Manager and Senior Technology Consultant. During this time, he was responsible for establishing and running Dr Solomon's Technical Support department, both in the UK and in the United States, and was closely involved with customer seminars and technical training, including the Dr Solomon?s Live Virus Workshop.

Following the acquisition of Dr Solomon's by Network Associates, David worked as a Systems Engineer and Product Manager, before joining the McAfee? Product Marketing team in January 2001, where he was responsible for the strategic marketing direction, product positioning and messaging for McAfee AVERT?, McAfee scan engine and McAfee Internet gateway appliances. David Joined Kaspersky Lab in April 2004.


  Dr Gopal Kutwaroo, UK Security Product Marketing, Microsoft Ltd
Dr Gopal Kutwaroo has been working for 12 years in the Telecommunications & IT industries and is currently a UK senior security product marketing manager, responsible for the Forefront suite of products from Microsoft. This is inclusive of ISA, Forefront Server Security, Whale SSL-VPN & Client Security. Three core elements to the role include growing the security business to track the overall growth of the UK market, create and contribute to the ?above the line? and ?below the line? customer marketing campaigns and thirdly optimizing the capability of existing and new security partners.

Before joining Microsoft, Gopal was Head of UK Industry Marketing and Proposition Development for Siemens Enterprise Networks and has also worked in senior product, industry and commercial marketing roles at BT Global Services. Outside work, Gopal is also a visiting university MBA lecturer of marketing, sales and alliance management.

  Udo Kerst, Senior Product Manager, Astaro
Udo Kerst, senior product manager at Astaro, is a veteran in the IT, networking and security industry. Kerst has over 18 years? experience having worked in managing positions covering systems engineering, consulting, product marketing and product management.
Kerst worked for seven years at several network system integrators and eleven years at networking and security equipment vendors (including Retix, Bay Networks/Nortel Networks and Astaro) focused on enterprise as well as carrier business.

In 1988, Kerst graduated in computer science from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, and also completed post-grad studies in marketing in 2005.


  Keith Baker, Managing Director, Equiinet
Keith Baker is a chartered engineer with more than 25 years experience in applying and developing leading-edge technologies for the engineering, computing and communications industries and is of the original founders of Equiinet, his ideas spawned the development of NetPilot.

He has established and Chaired OSMIG, the UK's Open Systems in Manufacturing Interest Group and CymruNet: an Internet backbone in Wales that provides connectivity for government and commercial organisations. The CymruNet concept provided the seeds of inspiration for the later development of the NetPilot products.

Keith was managing director and co-founder of i?it: a software development company specialising in distributed computing and communications technologies. Formerly Equiinet's Research Director and Special Projects Director, Keith is now managing director of Equiinet where his enthusiasm for finding fresh, innovative approaches continues to drive the team forward today.


  David Ellis, Director of e-security and Professional Services Computerlinks
As Director of e-Security, David Ellis is responsible for a large percentage of Unipalm?s business activity. He heads up the e-security division that provides a range of solutions including firewalls, VPNs, content management, wireless security, intrusion detection, web security, transaction acceleration and anti-virus devices.

David joined Unipalm in 1997 following a number of technical and commercial roles held at other organisations including GEC-Marconi and Midwich Thame where he assumed a number of roles including support, technical sales and product specialist.

David?s has worked with both product and services based solutions in sectors ranging from the SME to global enterprise customers. This experience has given him an in-depth knowledge of channel trends and activities, allowing him to comment authoritatively on all aspects of the channel.



  Nick Lowe, Regional Director, Check Point Software Technologies
Nick Lowe is the regional director for Check Point Software Technologies, a company that has become synonymous with Internet security. Nick heads Check Point's operations in Northern Europe. He oversees activities with Check Point's customers and partners in these regions, which includes securing some of the biggest and most innovative companies.

Nick is also an expert across IT security from compliance and security reporting to technology development and evolving threats.


  Greg Day, Security Analyst, McAfee
Greg Day is security analyst for McAfee and is responsible for leading a team of specialists on a global scale to ensure McAfee is at the forefront of intrusion prevention and risk management. Greg has worked in the virus and malicious code industry since 1991, initially with Dr Solomon?s, which today trades as McAfee.

He wrote his own TSR virus interceptor in assembler language as part of his University degree dissertation on Computer Viruses. Following his degree he built and led a consultancy team at Dr Solomon?s dealing with clients? anti-virus issues both at strategic and technical level.

Following the acquisition of Dr Solomon?s by Network Associates (now McAfee) in 1998, Greg moved into the Information Security Consultancy Team as a virus expert with valuable years of experience in the field.

In 1999 Greg helped found the McAfee Anti-Virus Technical Best Practices team. Based on their huge experience and varied technical and consultative backgrounds, the team promotes end-user awareness of virus-related issues and ?best real world methodologies? for protection strategies based around the McAfee product suites.

Greg has been one of the key instructors on McAfee?s Live Virus Workshop and is one of very few recognised authorised virus handlers in the world.


  Harnish Patel, Senior Vice President, EMEA, Surfcontrol
Harnish Patel joined SurfControl in November 2005 and is responsible for the growth of the EMEA organisation, he directs the sales operations across the EMEA region, is responsible for driving the region?s strategy to maximize revenue growth and increase the customer base.

With a stellar track record of driving profitable revenue growth, Harnish has executive level sales, relationship and marketing experience gained from his career at major organisations such as IBM, Sun Microsystems and Nuance Communications.

Harnish is a member of the Association of Certified Accountants and the Chartered Institute of Marketing and holds a BSc (Hons) and MSc in Computer Science from London University as well as an MBA from Manchester Business School (UK) and Kenan-Flager Business School (US).


  Simon Heron, Director, Network Box (UK) Ltd Defence Systems
Simon Heron is a Director of Network Box (UK) Ltd, a unified threat management company, where he is responsible for developing the overall business strategy and growth.

Heron has over 16 years experience in the IT industry, including eight years experience in internet security. During this time he has developed and designed technologies ranging from firewalls, anti-virus, LANs and WANs.

Prior to Network Box, Heron co-founded and was Technical Director of Cresco Technologies Ltd, a network design and simulation solution company with customers in the USA, Europe and China. Before that he worked for Microsystems Engineering Ltd, as a Project Manager, where he implemented network security for the company.

Heron began his career as a digital hardware and software engineer, developing pioneering speech recognition technology before moving on to work for the British Antarctic Survey (B.A.S.) as science project leader. While at the B.A.S. he spent two Antarctic winters at the research station Halley in the Antarctic, developing and enhancing graphical technologies in the harshest of conditions.

Heron has an MSc in Microprocessor Technology and Applications, and a BSc in Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding.


  Cliff May, Principal Consultant, Integralis
Cliff May currently heads the Integralis Consultancy Division, having previously spent over 27 years in HM Customs & Excise, running computer audit and computer forensic teams, followed by nine years in the private sector working in the computer and information security fields. Cliff has extensive practical experience of implementing security standards, e.g. BS7799/ISO27001, legal and regulatory considerations, security strategy and policy development, plus risk analysis and control measures.


  David Robinson, Country Manager, Norman
David Robinson is UK & Ireland Country Manager for Norman Data Defense Systems Limited. He joined the company in 2004 following 10+ years in various sales and marketing management roles, here in the UK as well as a number of years in the US. Since joining the company, he has led the organisation to almost 3 years of outstanding growth and has been influential in securing a number of key contracts.

Samantha Gurr has recently been appointed Technical Support Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Samantha has been with Trend Micro for over two years now, previously in the position of Northern Europe Technical Manager.

  Tim Eades, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Sana Security
Timothy Eades was most recently Senior VP and GM of Corporate Marketing and Products Division for Phoenix Technologies, a global leader in device-enabling and management software products for PCs and other user-driven connected digital services.

Eades began his career as a business analyst for Dun & Bradstreet. He then served in various roles for IBM in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, including managing new business and a brand marketing role for the Personal Systems Group. In 1998, he moved to IBM Worldwide to assume several roles, including Worldwide Personal Systems Group program director.

In 1999, Eades accepted a position as vice president of market development for MobileSys, a Silicon Valley start-up. Later, rejoining IBM as a program director, he managed an emerging technologies group for the Server Division, identifying potential acquisitions and investments. Eades holds advanced degrees in business, international marketing, and financial analysis, primarily from Southampton University in England.


  Jon Rolls, Director of Product Management, ScriptLogic
Rolls joined ScriptLogic Corporation in 2004, bringing 10 years of experience in the software industry, including four years at Citrix where he managed delivery of cross-platform client and server solutions.

His previous experience included a range of sales, development and product management roles in start-ups focused on OS virtualisation, Internet content delivery and remote access. Rolls currently heads-up Product Management in ScriptLogic, acting as the conduit between the Sales and Development teams.


  Mikko Hypponen, Director of Anti-Virus Research, F-Secure Corporation
Mikko Hypponen works as Director of Anti-Virus Research at F-Secure Corporation. He has worked with F-Secure since 1991.

Mr. Hypponen led the team that infiltrated the Slapper worm attack network in 2002, took down the world-wide network used by the Sobig.F worm in 2003 and was the first to warn the world about the Sasser outbreak in 2004.

He has been interviewed by numerous media outlets such as BBC, NBC, CNN and CNBC. He has also been interviewed by The Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair, Wired, New York Times and Newsweek. In addition to his other duties, he has co-authored two books.

Mr. Hypponen, born in 1969, has been an invited member of CARO (the Computer Anti-Virus Researchers Organization) since 1995.

Apart from computer security issues, Mr. Hypponen enjoys collecting and restoring classic arcade video games and pinball machines from past decades. He lives with his family in an island near Helsinki.

As product manager of wireless LAN and security, James Walker is responsible for a large percentage of ZyXEL?s business activity. He is part of the security team that provides a large range of firewalls and VPN devices.
