AVG Network Edition 7.5 FROM: Grisoft |
Overview:Efficient scanning, excellent integration and great value for money make AVG 7 Network Edition an attractive choice for any organization requiring central administration and reporting.
|
REVIEW:Installation: 7 out of 10 Using the administration setup tool (AVG S-Tool) you can quickly get AVG installed to all your workstations with minimal effort. Administration/Updating: 8 out of 10 Once installed you can easily configure each remote system using AVGADMIN which offers centralised configuration, reporting, distribution of program & definition updates. Using local distribution of updates makes the process quicker and will cut down on a considerable amount of internet traffic. Integration: 8 out of 10 Integration is one of the most important aspects of a good antivirus system, if integration is anything but excellent any AV package will soon find itself unpopular. AVG integrates itself very well by causing minimal impact on system resources and does not require users attention every 10 minutes. Effectiveness: 7 out of 10 AVG received a VB100% and the ICSA 2006 certification. AVG Anti-Virus also passed on demand and on access scanning level 1 meaning it detected all wild viruses. However it did not meet the level 2 criteria as defined by West Coast Labs, which requires the product disinfect all viruses in the wild that can be disinfected. Ease of Use: 9 out of 10 Whereas some of the competition falls down when it comes to ease of use, especially when it comes to central administration, AVG 7 Network Edition has excelled. Support: 6 out of 10 Technical support is only available via email. Value for Money: 8 out of 10 AVG was the least expensive of the products we tested, is very easy to use. If you can live without telephone support then it’s one to consider.
